5 Healthy Snacks to Get you Back on Track
Everybody overdoes it during the festive season.
But fad diets and bogus “detoxes” are not the answer.
Here’s 5 simple, healthy snack ideas to help get you back on track…
1. Greek Yogurt, fresh fruit & ProMix
Greek Yogurt is a great source of protein to keep you feeling fuller for longer. Which helps you to snack less often. It’s also got less sugar than natural yogurt, which is an added bonus.
Mix it up with some fresh berries, slices of pineapple or mango to get one of your 5-a-day in. We top it with some of our favourite ProMix for added crunch.
2. Fresh Fruit topped with Nut butter
This is a great snack because the nut butter is full of fibre to keep you feeling full & the fruit provides you with one of your five a day. It can be eaten on the go & doesn’t need to be kept in the fridge.
Try it with slices of apple, banana or even carrot. If you want a healthy treat, spread on banana slices and freeze for 30 minutes. Amazing!
3. Green Smoothie
Nothing beats a smoothie for a healthy snack when time is tight.
Make sure to include some oats, nuts / nut butter to increase the fibre content to fill you up. Otherwise, you might find yourself hungry again pretty soon.
Try this one…
– 1 apple
– 1 cup of spinach
– 2 x tbsps. Greek yogurt &
– 1 cup of water
– 1 Dollop of almond butter
– Top with some of your favourite ProMix
4. Rice cakes
Rice cakes are handy for a quick snack on the go. No fuss and no fridge needed! You can choose to go sweet or savoury – top with nut butter & sliced banana, Greek yogurt & berries or try cottage cheese & a sprinkle of cinnamon or hummus & smoked salmon.
5. Protein Pancakes
A little more prep involved with this one but worth it in the end. Top with Greek yogurt, Yogurt Topper or ProMix & strawberries.
